Its state-of-the-art DNA testing laboratory is headquartered in Kaduna. It also offers human genotyping for the public but can easily extend to the police and the judiciary.
Our Facilities
It has state of the art DNA sequencing and genotyping Beckman coulter genetic analyzers. It uses the WELLRED dyes which unlike other fluorescent dyes have a very low background to signal ratio. Thus, our results are clear and very accurate.
PCR
Polymerase chain reaction is employed by many researches to amplify regions of interest in a given genome.
REAL TIME PCR
Unlike conventional PCR that amplifies targeted DNA molecule, real-time PCR also quantifies the amount of the targets in a given volume of the sample.
DNA SEQUENCING
We are versed and equipped to carry out sequencing reactions using Sanger’s method while we are making preparations to introduce the use of next generation sequencing.
CANCER AND CYTOGENETICS
We have a good panel of cell lines in our cryogenics unit available for researchers. Various assays like MTT assay, Caspace 3 assay are employed to test anti-cancer activity of plant extracts.
